Xavier Vancells Arquitectura XVA (est. 2006) is a practicing contemporary architecture and design office based in Barcelona.
XVA’s work includes a wide range of scales from small to urban scale. The office is composed by a team of various architects working in close collaboration with external expert consultants.
XVA’s completed projects include the New Sport Hall for ATHC (2018), the A4 Housing Project in Rubi (2011), the Gutenberg Office Building Refurbishment in Terrassa (2011), the ATHC Clubhouse (2010), the Sant Cugat City Hall in Barcelona (2009) and the Huarte Art Center in Navarra (2007). Planning and construction work has started on, among other projects, the Gasthuis Urban and Residential Project in Poperinge (Belgium).
The work of Xavier Vancells has received several awards and has been exhibited in ‘Export BCN’ at the SICLI Pavilion Genève (2014), the Mendrisio School of Architecture (2013), ‘Spain Lab’ at the Spanish Pavilion in Venice Biennale of Architecture (2013), the Cité de l’Architecture & du Patrimoine in Paris (2009), the ArchitekturZentrum in Vienna (2009), and in the Deutsches ArchitekturMuseum in Frankfurt (2007).
