4 July 2007
The President of the Generalitat of Catalonia, José Montilla, opened the new headquarters of Sant Cugat Council, designed by the architects Xavier Vancells, Franc Fernández and Carles Puig.

The building on the Rambla del Celler brings to a close the 75-year history of the old municipal headquarters on the Plaça de Barcelona. The new project received unanimous approval in 2004, in response to the need for new facilities triggered by the municipality’s growth.

The new building, spread over 9,736 sq. m, consists of six stories distributed around a central patio. This gives rise to large spaces flooded with light that encourage a new approach to work. The building incorporates an environmental management system that optimizes natural resources and energy consumption while reducing waste.
